» Day 8 - Adana/Antakya (B,L,D)

After breakfast we set out to visit the a mosque that ranks as the largest in Turkey, Europe and Middle East. Called the Adana Sabancı Mosque and built in 1998, this immense house of worship can accommodate 30,000 worshipers. From Adana we continue to Osmaniye to visit Toprakkale. We continue on to Antakya (Antioch) where we will visit the Museum of Antioch, which houses a superb collection of mosaics that were excavated in Antioch. We will also visit Daphne,Seleucia Pieria to see the two rock tombs and the Tunnel of Titus--our highlights for the day--and St.Peters Grotto, a cave church known as the meeting place of the early Christians. At the end of the tour we will check-into our hotel in Antakya where we will dine and spend the night.
