» Day 4 - Cleopatra Island/Karacasogut (B/L/D)
Today begins with our cruise to Sedir (Cedrae) Island. This unique island with its small beach and unbelievable clear water is akin to an open-air museum. Here we see the city walls, the temple from the time of Dorians' reign (later restored as a church), the amphitheater with 1,500 guest capacity and some vaulted historical buildings. We can wander among the remains of pillars inscribed with antique writings or the ancient stones decorated with reliefs. Cleopatra Beach, located on this island, has a very special kind of sand that is normally only found in the deserts of Northern Africa. According to legend, Anthony transported this sand from Egypt by boats for his Cleopatra. From this lovely spot our boat will sail to Karacasogut village. Here we will both enjoy our dinner and our overnight stay. This lovely village is located only 25 km distant from the lovely shore town of Marmaris. Guests who choose may take local transportation (dolmus) to Marmara to explore this town and its busy offerings. Another alternative is to join the optional tour to Dalyan - Caunos .
